To Recovering Alcoholics: Small/realistic steps toward recovery?

if you only drink to get drunk then you should definetly stop drinking. its something like ten days to get over your physical craving then the rest is mental. in a recent artical in psychology today they said that the people with addiction problems in their study all strongly sought immediate gratification from things and that doing memory exercises (google free memory excercise games) really helped them to get over their addictions. keep that in mind while doing your studying. also, dont underestimate the power of positive thinking. motivate yourself by reminding yourself you are not so weak as to have a substance control you and potencially ruin your life.
