In the mood for editing a paragraph? it would be greatly appreciated!?
The novel, 1984 by George Orwell, is written about the governmental totalitarianism of the future. Published in the year of 1948, this book describes what was to be predicted of humanity in 1984. The protagonist, Winston Smith, was born into an era where the government kept twenty-four-hour surveillance on all citizens. In addition to that, the past was rewritten daily to accommodate the government’s latest lies about their economy and war, and there was no such thing as love and freedom of thought. However, Winston believes that there is another way of living, and is willing to challenge an entire oligarchy for what he thinks is right. Winston collaborates with a woman named Julia, and they decide to live life to the fullest while avoiding the authorities whenever possible. Soon after their decision is made to expand their relations, Winston mistakenly confides with a man named O’Brien, and is discovered by the authorities. After continuous torture and discipline, Winston finally gives up the traits that make him “human”, and surrenders to this oppressive society.
